Rochdale Lib Dem Sleaze: Porn-O's Money in Pocket
"Rowen Online" aka Rochdale Online - web-based publication, part owned by the respectable Oldham Chronicle, and part directed by a respectable Solicitor, though that does not stop them running lies and sleaze and horribly biased coverage is widely considered to be in the pocket of or in fear of the sleaze and expenses rip off Lib Dems in the Town.
What is this based on? Well, although publisher Malcolm Porn-O is reputed to be a Tory himself his long-suffering wife and his son Brad Porn-O are Libdemologists. And although Malcolm Porn-O is a Porn-Again Christian he is a sex and rock and roll specialist and apparently abstemious when it comes to drink and drugs, unlike Rowen's people who are renowned caners - keeping the Rochdale cooking lager and White Lightning and in Rowen's case expensive designer beers industry ticking over.
Henn-O and Porn-O have had horribly inter-tangled social lives.
Porn-O's horrendous cock rock, accompanied by Hennigan's horrendous drunken dervish deejaying, Phoenix Nights has nothing on this pair.
And then of course there's the fact that Dave Hennigan has Paul Rowen giving Porn-O a hefty contract and fat taxpayer cheques to make his official website for him. Since which Porn-O has hardly run any positive stories for opposition parties, even stooping to cropping pictures and removing Labour people from stories.
Here is the Rowen Online line on last night's Rochdale Euro Count before they were got at by their paymasters:
"Locally it was a sorry tale for the Liberal Democrats. They were beaten by the Conservatives and Labour in Rochdale, despite the fact that they currently control the council and the constituency."
But at around 11:30AM this changed, though still tagged "Tory Success in Rochdale" to begin:
"Labour lost a North West MEP on one of their worst ever election nights, with BNP leader Nick Griffin taking over the seat."
Which ignores an inconvenient truth ot two. In 2004 there were nine seats. In 2009 there are eight. As a result of this reduction and the BNP gain TWO parties each lost a seat. Labour (3) AND the Lib Dems (2) reduced to two and one respectively.
They continued with still more weaselish:
"The Conservatives leapfrogged Labour and the Liberal Democrats in Rochdale, with Labour's vote halved from 2004."
Halved? We'll let that go. The Lib Dem vote also substantially reduced. The Tory vote hardly changed. Just didn't slump. Dave Hennigan and PR Paul Rowen are certainly getting value for money from the taxpayers' dosh they are holding like a gun to Bentley driving Porn-O's bread head. Sleaze bah gum.

Poor Pauline having to watch Malcolm act like a knob with one his artistic nude models at the Rochdale Online Awards dinner. The Billionaire badboy hosted the social event of the year with literally dozens of Rochdale's third divsion Rotarians and Freemasons having a shidig with wonderful local music and dancing.

No cigar for Rowen's taxpayer funded RO website. But lots of accolades were presented (in one way or another) to friendly Rotarians/John Kay connectors.

The scores on the doors on the votes halved lie from Rowen Online:
Tories 2004 11,550 2009 8,909 - 23%
Labour 2004 15,719 2009 8,468 - 46%
Lib Dem 2004 14,648 2009 8,299 - 43%
UKIP 2004 7,015 2009 7,141 + 2%
BNP 2004 5,949 2009 4,905 - 17.5%
Green 2004 2,957 2009 c 2,500 - 15.5%
Overall down about 33%. Truth is Labour and Lib Dems were both down by similar amounts above trend, Tories, Greens and BNP down by something less than trend. UKIP bucked trend and increased.
But Rowen Online and Truth are not bedfellows at all.

people don't take Rochdale Online seriously. The taxpayer's cash to Malcolm for Paul Rowen's MP is no surprise. The money should be paid back.
as for news bias, this has happened in Rochdale for years. A Lib Dem politician could be photographed clutching a brown envelope of cash whilst humping a boy scout but get away with it.
That probably sums up a lot of what has gone on in Rochdale for about 50 years.
