Rageh Omaar Inside Tehran: "The quickest way to reverse this progress is for the West to attack."

"Rageh Omaar presents a documentary revealing the lives, hopes and fears of the young generation of Tehran, perhaps the least understood city in the world today."

Times background reading, making of background, and Producer/Director's home page. The latter is my great friend Paul Sapin, hailing from New York New York via Didsbury, Manchester.

9pm 'til 10:30pm tonight, Thursday 15 February on BBC Four. Or you can watch it on Paul's homepage or at YouTube (linked there). [As it does of course clash with The Verdict's last thrilling instalment. How on earth did Jeffrey Archer ever get anywhere? Apart from gaol.]
Telling quote:
"The quickest way to reverse this progress (in Iran) is for the West to attack."

So, rush back from your nomination meetings in Didsbury 1, Didsbury 2 and Burnage and settle down to hear just why bombing Tehran is such an appalling idea. Which is such a surprise when it comes from the loveable George W Bush.

Chris,
When your streets are filled with blood because you are not being tolerated by the Muslims who have taken over your nation, don't call on Americans to bail you out as we did in ww2 ww1. Yea call the French. Thank God there are still some Englishmen who think like Churchill.
Patric
By the way thanks to our European thinking congress, we aren't likely to bomb anyone except ourselves.

Been watching it for an hour now. It has to be good to hold my attention. Well balanced insight by a very good journalist. Paul Sapin has done an excellent job - it has enough material and pace to fill the time slot. Hotel Babylon (BBC1) has been recorded for another night.

Thanks to Patric for comments, look like a good old boy, but comments betray puny thinking and dare I say a hint of being extremely right wing and closed mind. As it is 9pm I am assuming you have yet to watch the programme. Obviously the USA was way late in joining WWII and recognising the murderous fascists killing on an industrial scale following centuries of demonisation of jewish people, gypsies, foreigners. And just taking a dislike to communists, trade unionists, gays, and so on.

Just now the major demonisation on our planet is against Muslims, and Rageh Omaar's film (and he is now mainly working for a good ole US-based company Al Jazeera) is an excellent view of the people and places you would like Americans to bomb to smithereens.

Please do watch it. And post a review of the piece.

Nice one US majority for fixing congress. And nice one Lorenzo.
