One Nation Gordon: Stop Whining, He's a Class Act

Gordon's Speech today has hardly had any attention at all today. As it should be.

But for those who missed it: Very businesslike, mentioning Britain/ish 85 times (Hat tip: Crick; who else was counting, well Neill was but he got 71, the dozy so and so), and not mentioning the opposition at all. Brill. Lots of fun. You can read it all RIGHT HERE. Or there's always the Guardian live blog to look back on.

Thankfully no-one has been trying to push GB to have an early election when June 2009 - as revealed exclusively by LOL - is his plan. If he goes to the country earlier than that it will only be because it is in the interest of the British people, whoever may win the most seats and all that party political tosh. Gordon Brown is above party politics. And it is good to have one of those in your political party, believe you me.

Guido (to whom with a flourish the hat swoops cavalierly for this extraordinarily idiotic GuF graphic) claims it is ten more years of the same and the rather desperate Tory commentorati and boy bloggers are of course groaning and moaning. In fact it is to be ten more years building on a 10 year recovery from 18 years of selfish Thatcherism. And the building goes on.

As Comrade Quentin said to wavering Tories everywhere: "Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, will you join the dance?" Gordon's onwards and upwards conference speech didn't annoy me at all. Blair's last one did. It really did. 50 More Years! Other parties unnecessary! Vote
Great Britain, vote Gordon Brown!
