Suicide Watch: British Prisons, United States Servicemen

Jailhouse has a story about a simple and low cost method of reducing jail suicides while Radio Five Live put me onto the sad fact that on average some 17 US veterans are killing themselves every day meaning that in the past EIGHT MONTHS more have died at their own hand than in the Iraq War to date.

This includes a considerable proportion of over 50s who were conscripts in Vietnam, and Korea or WWII vets, as well as younger volunteer soldiers from the latest military adventures.
