Ivan the Terrible: Quoting NHS Bevan is the Bollocks

Even Malaysian National Front tactics pale into insignificance when compared with Guido's unwarranted and vile eavesdropping. Funny though. And Tories are worse than vermin. Particularly that Lansley with his utterly disingenuous rat-tistics. Anywhere you go you're only metres away from a .... Tory. Yeuch!

Lower than vermin, but never mind.

The speech was at Belle Vue in Manchester, as you will know, and over the years I have spoken to quite a few people who were in the audience that night. Without exception they all took away the impression that it wasn't the Tory Party that Bevan was lambasting, it was the class that supported it and capitalism.

Being near a Conservative is not half as bad as contracting c.difficile from a Labour-run hospital, I'll bet

Well that's true enough LFAT but did you not notice that the Nottingham Trust with the most pro-active pest control (1000 call outs) also had smashed all records for MRSA prevention and halved C Dif in the same two years as their rat and roach and wasp and fly calls.

The truth is that hospital estates are as likely to have "wildlife" as any complex of buildings and the truth is that pests inside hospital - "rats in maternity ward", "maggots in mortuary" and the like are extraordinarily rare. And that Lansley - like Gove and Vaizey and Cameron and Osborne and the whole sick crew - will say any old rubbish to get attention for themselves and to divert attention from the triumphs of the Labour-run NHS in cutting waiting and lengthening lives and increasing well being.

PS How does contracting c.dif from a Labour-run hospital rate versus fatal incompetence from gin-soaked, Tory-voting, golf-boring heart surgeon? Who would incidentally like to be running the whole show. And to whom Lansley and Co would be willing to let the NHS revert.

"gin-soaked, Tory-voting, golf-boring heart surgeon"

Nothing like a sweeping generalisation, is there, Chris?

Just how many surgeons do you know well enough to make a comment like this about?

As I thought, Chris....

Sorry Lakelander, I've been having a few hours off from my hobby. Clearly it is a sweeping generalisation. That's satire for you. But you know that. I do know quite a few surgeons and othr consultants as it goes. Many not fit to run a whelk stall cf Dave Cameron.

I also know quite a few surgeons and, to man, they tend to get sozzled on malt!
