Basic Instinct: Siobhan McDonagh MP, Batty Bunny Boiler

Further to our Morning Has Broken / Broken Record post ... One of Hazel's co-conspiracists Siobhan McDonagh MP (right) is live and direct on BBC News Channel claiming that some of the Cabinet Ministers who have today maintained a view contrary to the Blearsky Hotmail Eight, or indeed come to their senses after flirting with their self-indulgence, and said clearly they back Gordon Brown and getting on with the business of governing are in fact fibbing.

What a fecking idiot this woman is! How very dare she contradict her colleagues and comrades in this way? This so-called coup has been the worst of all possible worlds. It has damaged Labour and possibly cost us the odd county council and/or MEP, and it ain't going to effect any change anyway. It is going to fizzle and die as LOL predicted last night. I'm glad to see that.

Worst of all worlds? Hazel Blears, Jacqui Smith, James Purnell, John Hutton - all finished, done, over, goodbye. It's beautiful. This will be Brown's legacy - the self-discrediting and departure of the ultra-Blairite dregs. It will make it a lot easier to rebuild the party after the next election, might even make victory in 2014 a realistic prospect.

McDonagh may be right in one case ... Caroline Flint has now left the scene. She may follow this by back tracking on anything nice she may have said about Brown this morning ... he claimed to have offered her a job involving cabinet attendance which she turned down. Baroness kinnock has got the gig instead.

If you chaps continue with Gordon Brown then you are mad. The man is electoral poison, as rather more than 200 Labour County Councillors have now found out. As a Conservative I am very happy for him to stay put, but as a Briton I want a Prime Minister that isn't an embarrassment.
