Zimbabwe Trade Unions: Make an Exhibition of Yourself

The Trade Union Congress is making a giant photo mosaic of Lovemore Matombo (right) and Wellington Chibebe (below) of the Zimbabwean trade unions, who are facing trial on Monday for speaking out about the situation in Zimbabwe. Muagabe's aim is to shut unions up over the election period, denying them their human rights to express themselves. We need your help right now! The giant mosaic will be made of the faces of 100s and 100s of unionists, and placed outside the Zimbabwean Embassy in London on Monday, and used as much as possible in the media (let media@tuc.org.uk know if you're interested in working with it).

So we have until the end of the day to get as many more photos as we can (See, I said it was last-minute). You can send in your own mugshot by emailing it to zim@tuc.org.uk or by sending a cameraphone snap to 07546 229055 (0044 7546 229055 from outside the UK).

Derek Wall posted background to their arrests on Socialist Unity. This post is a mildly mangled TUC/NUF press release.
