Northern Voices 7: Norman's Accused Spoddonite

An interesting discussion of the resort of the bounder, scoundrel and scallywag to the law. Be they Cadbury and oh so grand, or Smith and ever so humble. The piece features the above "letter before legal action" from Norman Smith MBE, still active it seems as brother Sir Squirrel's enforcer, vide Rochdale Observer letters this Saturday. What are these corrosive Brothers in Alms on to render them so utterly splutterative? Very naughty libel by juxtaposition over Barcelona as an alleged model for Manchester. Naughty. But essentially the Smith line on the controversial, deeply polluted land in Spodden Valley is that they are disinterested. Next up is the NV6 article Storming Norman was dribbling and scribbling about.

Norman Smith's handwritten libel letter is hilarious.

Is it real?

Who is his solicitor? My cousin Vinny?

If this is who has been so influential in Rochdale for decades then no wonder the town is fucked up.

Norman doesn't normally do much thinking. That is left to Big Brother Cyril.
His hand has been behind a lot of letters recently.
I wouldn't like his phone bill.
He has pulled more stops out than an organist.

(no jokes about choirboys, monkeys and organ grinders please).

Years of poison, venom and bile make Cyril a loose cannon.

All he is intereested in is looking after number 1. He doesn't care who he uses or bullies or lies about to protect his fat hide.

Those with eyes to see are taking the whole show in.

Those with very long memories are just biding their time.

At last these numpties are being taken to task.

Hubris.

Paracutists often hit what they are actually trying to avoid. Is that why Norman was so determined to confirm that HE had no financial interests in TBA or the new owners of the asbestos factory site?

Avoidance.

What was the mighty mind of Stormin Norman trying to miss?

Surely nothing about Septic Cyril?

Cyril's past invlovement in TBA as shareholder, consultant and parliamentary toastmaster plus dinner and public gallery organiser for the big asbestos factory bosses?

No wonder Dave Henneghan has been foaming at the mouth, Rowan has been in denial and the letter page of the Rochdale Obscurer has been filled with the Cyril Smith fan club.

But what is the present day avoidance that is making Norman so twitchy?

What connection with the asbestos factory site today could Cyril possibly have?

Lets put our thinking caps on eh?

Perhaps some of Squirrel's great nephews like to race their BMX bikes through the soft, snowy asbestos dust that lies thick there in Spodden Vale?

Is it true that in the new development the houses there will be in streets named for example:

Sir Cyril Smith Street

Norman Smith MBE Road

David Waddington Chambers

Kiszko Must Hang Avenue

Asbestos Crescent

Pleural Plaques Place

Cambridge House

Knowl View Bottom

Only 20% Mesothelioma Street

TBA was not the name in the later days. Norman denying having financial or political interest in TBA is suspicious. How about T&N, Federal Mogul, related companies, buyer of the site, developer etc

Norman Smith is clear about it. HE didn't have financial relations with THAT company, TBA.

Exactly Monica. Other may have done. And HE may have had relations with OTHER companies. Remember in 1981 the Asbestos Executives joshing with Squirrel about their name change from TBA? Already eight years ago then?
