Ham Dram: What's Copper Doing Informing on MP?
Apart from the unfortunate confusion in some of the reporting on this silly season story of a Met Plod Guard falling out with an MP I began to wonder - on reading Guido's additional reporting - what a copper was doing snitching on someone they should serve with respect and discretion?
UPDATE: It seems that apart from a mix up in a direct quote between the interrogators 'Who' and 'What' and the confusion and profusion of ambiguous he, he, hims Mr Dale's story wasn't too far off the money. And hats off for pulling it quickly when the issues were pointed out.

For what it's worth, I reckon the MP did say what it is claimed he said. Yes the copper should not have kissed and tell.
I would not respect someone who mouthed off at me, even if he was an MP. As for serve, don't forget that the copper is a member of the electorate and the MP is there to serve him...
The MP is only or primarily there to serve their own electorate! Was PC Ham from Jones' constituency? Even he he were is he not bound by his job to keep schtum?
Comments elsewhere suggest that hardly any MPs (10%) regularly present passes and that the guards are supposed to recognise them.
The copper should get disciplined as well and certainly not be put on HoP duty ever again.
The last thing a healthy democracy needs is security guards as stasi or 'nazi' associated newspapers stringers.
This is of course the same newspaper proprietor that owns the Standard - but in the case of St Ken who won a moral victory on anyone's terms over the Finegold incident.
Still not seen the Standard releasing the "missing" segment of the famous tape where - I guess - Finegold let rip himself.
Coppers in any situation feeding stories to the press ... and that includes Sir Ian Blair hisself ... is not a great service to society, is it?
