Libdemologists: "Councils Should Rip Off Farmers"

Mr GuF catches the fading Lib Dem helmsman doing something wrong. No change there then.

"W" Menzies Campbell appears to be suggesting a new ABC of Local Government morality:

A. Councils refuse farmers and other landowners planning permission but take their "useless" land off their hands;
B. Councils then grant planning to themselves and flog the land at a premium to developers;
C. Lib Dem Councillors immediately double their allowances, as in Bristol;

OK, OK, I know he didn't say that last one. Though Bristol Lib Dems did do it as soon as they gained control last time.

Ming's idea was that Councils would laugh all the way to the bank.

In actual fact a similar process of site assembly, master planning, and partnership has being practiced very honourably for many years, including under English Partnerships, and Urban Development Companies and the like. But this benefits all parties and the public interest as added value is churned back into commercially softer elements.

Mr GuF contrasts Mr Campbell's clumsy proposal - which will hearten every Labour and Tory activist with some pestilent Lib Dems moaning about planning proposals - with a speech of one year's vintage where Sir Ming called for small government.

The BBC has more including Yvette Cooper explaining an existing commitment to serious ramping up. 200,000 per annum by 2016.

I've just been reading your comments on Dales Diary.

You really are a prize wanker.

Essex boy: cheers Iain. If you're not Iain then please do introduce yourself and/or provide an argument rather than a gratuitous insult.

For F's sake which comments offend you? Why do they? What is your problem? Where do you live? How do you feel about being criticised?

Personally Chris, I think your blog is fantastic, as are your comments on Iain Dale.

I especially like it when Iain writes something like "Tony Blair was wrong when he said the sky was blue" and you comment with something along the lines of "Actualy Iain, the sky is blue" and then Newmania tells you to get a life or accuses you of being a Labour propoganda mechant or some such.

Cheers Citizen

Mr Dale seems to be going through a specially sloppy phase at the moment. Which is better I suppose than the specially misogynist phase that preceeded it.
