Electoral Commission: Sam Younger Question 3

Dear Sam Younger

In this case I have just described there were recorded donations and a recorded loan in close proximity to the election date which amounted to around 250% of the maximum.

There were known to be other smaller donations though one, medium sized, was returned.

Should party units who raise more than they are allowed to spend, if not more than they "need", have to account clearly for all the money received, not just that spent in the election period?

Best wishes

Mr Younger is appearing on 18 Doughty Street tomorrow. Iain wants question suggestions. Here are ten of many, concentrating on election spends nitty gritty.
