Oliver Marre, Ann Widdecombe, and btw Iain Dale

Oliver Marre leads the Observer's Pendennis today with a scoop concerning the fairly imminent departure of Ms Ann Widdecombe from the HoP to feature in pasta and cat food advertising:

It's farewell, then, to Ann Widdecombe, who tells me that she plans to stand down from Parliament at the next election. But do not despair. We are going to see a lot more of her in the coming months, for I learn that she has launched a new career in advertising.
...
Widdecombe explains that once she is free of her parliamentary shackles, she will be able to dedicate more time to writing and her budding television career, as well as considering more advertisements. 'I'd do it again, but only if it's decent, truthful and something I actually like,' she says. 'Catfood, maybe'.

This means that, unless there is an autumn election, and Ann's bones, like LoL's, she says, 'tell me there won't be', Maidstone and the Weald constituency will be a very attractive political freehold for sale or rent.

Can any reader think of anyone on the Tory list who's based anywhere down Kent way?

Incidentally, Iain Dale has only today changed his blog masthead back to include a visual reference to the HoP (above). This was mid afternoon I reckon. About when a busy Tonbridge gentleman might have got through his Sunday Times, Sunday Telehgraph and his whirl of media appointments to relax with the Observer. A quick change as a call for new designs was only yesterday.

The LOL graphics department were certainly thinking they had longer. I'll give them the hurry up.

Iain Dale was of course Ms Widdecombe's accomplice and chauffeur on various conversational theatrical engagements.

He boosted her as a London mayoral candidate, has conspired on audio publications.

And he has been an unashamed plugger of Ann's wares (right).

Perhaps I will ... but then you didn't come and play with the artist Charlie Bronson ...

Interesting stuff. He has made no secret of crying out for a safe seat for years.

I don't get the Charlie Bronson reference...

Charlie Bronson? Played serial killers several times? Axe murderers? No? You still don't get it?

Chris, you're going to have a word with John.

No miss widdi fbt NOT charles bronson, I said "charlie". He (charlie) was the mystery artist in my artsclusive/reader competition.

John Hirst and CB, or MP to give him his real initials, have served side by side at times I guess?

CB went in for something fairly trivial ... but has mostly been kept in (and in solitary) for being arsey and violent with prison officers, fellow inmates, and educators ...

One of whom said, correctly, that his art was piss poor and got held hostage for the best part of 48 hours as a result.

I do remember the post about art, I can't remember who I was going to suggest at the time. But, it certainly wasn't CB. Sorry, I just didn't find it interesting enough to respond.

Dale isn't the only one after Widdy's seat. Ashley Roger Crossley is allegedly in the frame. True to past form Crossley will be getting his mates to spin against Dale and then sympathising with Dale for the nasty things being spun against him. And THEY call the Liberal Democrats the Party of dirty tricks!

So Ashley Crossley the tory prima donna is after Widdy's seat. A bit bold after losing the dead cert Fal and Camborne seat for the tories. One thing is clear, he did lose Falmouth and Camborne for Labours Candy Atherton. The question remains and we in Camborne know the answers that Candy's Gay researcher stirred it up so much for Candy that she lost the seat -But so did the Tories, thanks too Crossley. Word is that there is no love lost between him and Iain Dale as they are both after these winnable Tory seats.
Cattiness is raging at full pelt with Iain Dale removing the link from his blog to this blog on this subject.

The real question is who stirred up Candy's researcher in London and then sympathised with Candy in Falmouth and Camborne? I think Candy herself now knows the answer to that.
