Guido Fawkes: Continuously Unprofessional Scoundrel
GuF has thankfully not blogged the Sharia-phobia thing like Iain and the others. Instead he continues to claim the concept of "snouts in the trough" for himself.
His bar chart - allegedly comparing food costs in different circumstances - is to his usual poor standard. Every one of the bars is calculated on a different basis. The lowest - the school kids one - is ingredients only cost. Most of the others are some combination of ingredients plus labour costs plus overheads. The MP's one - unlike all the others - is a per diem. The cost of buying a free choice of meal(s) and drinks from capitalists in one of the most expensive areas of one of the most expensive cities in the world.
Which is not to say MP exes should not be scrutinised. But £20 is not an untypical per diem for London. In fact 15 years ago we used to give musicians and artistes around £15 pd in London. With the blessing of the tax man.
Comparing unlike with unlike like this is just ridiculous GuF. You know that. You are not dim. So stop making a meal of things.

Bit strong calling a fellow a scoundrel old boy, chappie must have been really awful to get such a stinging rebuke.
Fair comment Mike. How's this:
"the normally punctillious Mr Paul Staines has been economical with the verite in a blog bar chart"?
And please see the next post.
