Ratification Petition: What's The Point of That?

Not sure why anyone would be bothered to petition Gordon Brown to do what he is already determined to do and indeed has now done? But Mr GuF seems to think the absence of such petitioners is of great significance. Britain became 19/27 last evening (Bloomberg).

Not sure what the point of passing a bill to amend the 1972 European Communities Act is when the treaty referred to is of no legal effect ...

What are you on about? It will be of some legal effect iff and whenn 27 countries have ratified it. On this round the maximum is now 26/27ths ...

Are you not going to comment on GuF's ridiculous jeering at a non-petition.
