Paul Rowen MP: Who is The International Brother of Mystery?

Who on earth is this brother with brother Rowen (above)? Rochdale Alternative Website speculate about the MP's feeble excuses for not being at the Hennigan frog-marching event last Sunday. But although their caption suggests freemasonry afoot and draws attention to the very odd Rowen handshake, though not the pseudo masonic jewellry which could pass for mayoral in these parts, it does not name the man on the right. Can anyone help?

UPDATE Sat 14:13: It is WBro David Action who is also inevitably a big wheel in the local Rotary Club as well as one of the Rochdale Chapters of the hell's Angels Freemasons - hence the strange handshake. I believe he is Mr Big in beds. Meanwhile a Mr Mason is Mr Big in used cars. Both are long time associates of Paul Rowen for his charidee activity - mainly to do with orphanages in East Africa.

Sorry, Chris, I don't think it's anything more insidious than the president of a Rotary Club!

Anonydave 12.39, we thought it looked uncannily like WBro Dave Acton from Rochdale Lodge No. 6721.

And the only point being made at the moment was the funny handshake. It was as if Paul was trying to be a man for all seasons. Nod, wink, rolled up trouser leg.

Now Mr Hennigan, the next time you go up to Emma Street with a bag of Werther's Originals could you ask the old spanker why he was allegedly blackballed from the Brotherhood? Why was he never a Magistrate either?

Your mum?

Rotary schmottery Hennigan. Is Acton a Libber as well as a Rotor and a FreeM?

Dave H's mum can't be a Freemason. Wimmen ain't allowed. Very Liberal.

How does Paul Rowen get such a shiny red complection? Too much rich living?

talking of Masons, what about local businessman and second hand car dealer Terry Mason? Paul gets his cars from Terry and is not remiss in plugging the business.
Terry has also be publicly vocal in a few planning controversies close to his home- strange how the Lib Dems on the planning committee sorted them out- despite going against the planning recommendations of the council officers.
Don't know if this Terry Mason is in the rolled up trouser brigade though. It probably doesn't matter, he seems to get a lot of help and prominence from Paul Rowen anyway.

Is it David Action the waterbed csar? And does Rowen have any of his fitted bed linen or indeed the full water bed experience?

married to Sheila Acton of Syke Area Forum and Community Base (secret millionaire fame)? Sir Cyril Smith Business Centre in Syke.

Big news last year was the huge loss of council funding through the complicated Local Strategic Partnership structure. The Syke Area Base was threatened with closure. Things did get ugly but then very confusing as Sheila Acton was exceedingly diplomatic in not criticising the Lib Dem council Cabinet for its funding demise. Job losses did happen but miraculously a Channel 4 Secret Millionaire did save the day. In fairness it is an excellent resource staffed by good people. But why should such community organisations have to depend on their very existence on fleeting handouts?
Is this all part of a complex system of political, masonic and Rotary patronage? Back scratching and silent diplomacy?
Such secret deals and lack of transparency could give the impression that Rochdale is a odd backwater that requires a nod and a wink to get on.
If this happened in Africa it would be frowned upon but in Rochdale it has been the norm since the Cyril was a lad.

Thanks, though the Syke experience seems pretty standard really. Though if there was some Lib Dem unfairness or incompetence on this one then LOL readers will no doubt be glad to hear of it. Apart from Dave and Paul and John and one or two others.
