Paul "Gazza" Rowen MP and Useless Lib Dem Council: The Verdict
Labour's PPC in Rochdale Simon Danczuk tels it like it is in today's MEN. Rochdale's Lib Dem Council and MP should not blame Rochdale people for Council and MP failures. Rather like Sir Cyril Smith blaming asbestos workers and collateral victims for their choices.Rochdale council shopped
IN saying that Rochdale residents must “use or lose” their high street, MP Paul Rowen is wrong to shift the blame of the town's decline onto local people who have decided to shop elsewhere. After years of Liberal Democrat neglect and failed regeneration plans, people are voting with their feet.
Our MP and Rochdale's Liberal Democrat-run council must accept responsibility for the fact that our town centre has been overtaken by other neighbouring authorities who have shown they are forward thinking and in touch with business concerns. Which ever way you look at it, Rochdale council is hopelessly out of touch with the needs of local traders.
But don't take my word for it. The facts speak for themselves. Rochdale has the lowest rate of business start-ups in Greater Manchester. The council have stopped funding for business incubators like the Enterprise Factory and show no desire to support entrepreneurs. In the latest round of business growth incentives awards, provided by government as a reward for business rate receipts, Rochdale earned less than one sixth of the amount awarded to Wigan.
But the council's crowning moment came last year when, after millions of government money had been pumped into helping Rochdale regenerate its town centre, the Lib Dems were forced to abandon the selection process after they failed to appoint a developer. They are now re-running the procedure all over again, with the local taxpayer picking up a bill for over £100,000. We are the second largest borough in Greater Manchester and should have a thriving town centre. It's only short-sightedness and a failure to properly support local traders that is preventing this. Paul Rowen needs to shoulder some responsibility for the damage caused by his party and stop trying to pass the buck.
No amount of Dave "Drunkagain" Hennigan "Exciting times for Rochdale!!!" press releases will cover up the almighty fuck up that Sir Cyril, Paul "Gazza" Rowen and his cronies have made.
On Wednesday the MEN carried three stories (count 'em!) on why people are giving up on Rochdale altogether and shopping in Bury. As tumbleweed rolls through the town, the
"Rochdale, it's booming" council propaganda posters are looking faded and embarrassing.
Here are the MEN's verdicts:
Rochdale Crunched | Lib Dem Rochdale is Shithole | Bury is Miles Better. Paul "Gazza" Rowen may claim that he does all his shopping in Rochdale!! CCTV says: "Bollocks!"

Rowen should start by shopping Cyril for his despicable asbestos cover-ups instead of defending him at every turn. Only by acklowedging the mistakes of the past can Rochdale have a future. Paul Rowen, like the rest of his Lib Dem cronies, is in total denial of the damage they've done to communities.
That Paul Rowen isn't half getting desperate. Last week he got some stooge to write into the Observer claiming he was a saint. Dave, Dave was it you????
"He is dedicated, sincere and loyal and he stands out because he goes that extra mile and always gets the job done," simpered a dribble-chinned gimp by the name of Nora Leech (John Leech's auntie?)
"If Paul had a house in London and one halfway home and on in Rochdale, if Rochdale would benefit then bring it on," went her feeble argument like a sickly mouse expiring on the page.
"When people are talking expenses he is the best man in Rochdale we have got. You can't buy caring people, dedicated and loyal, you cannot put a price on his worth."
On and on it droned. Spouting, slobbering and salivating like a fawning parasitic fool.
"He is a man of his word and personally I would trust him with my life. Praise the Lord for Paul, for no one in Rochdale can hold a candle to him."
Hallelujah, hosanna and Amen to that.
Now pass me the sick bucket.
All in all Cyril was small fry.
Cyril's Liberal colleagues played down the allegations of his sexual abuse "thats not very nice, all he did was smacl a few bottoms. etc." said David Steel.
When Cyril went crying like a baby after being 'questioned' for his Cambridge House visits no doubt the police had investigated far worse. Just a fat self-important politician who could make life awkward for them who was a bit devient went it came to discipline and sex. Things were different back then. If orders came from above then the file got taken away, no questions asked.
Asbestos workers weren't dying like flies on the factory floor. They got paid well and the directors of Turners were such decent chaps who made a big fuss of Cyril when he became MP. At his first meeting at TBA Cyril reminised with the directors how they missed employing him as a youngster when he came for a job. The Directors were so charming and the company made so much money. Who could really question the deaths? No one was making too much of a fuss apart from a few troublemakers back then.
Old fashioned Rochdale needed development in the 1960's and 70's. Why should Rochdale miss out?. Hise rise flats and shopping centres were the in thing. The civil engineers came and delivered results. They were decent chaps and very kind and polite. The sort that made Britain what it is today.
We are not talking mass murder or mass rape or huge amounts of bribery and corruption running into tens of millions.
Things were different then.
All this fuss over things that happened so long ago.
What is the world coming to?
Mmmmm. Things were different then.
Going back to "Gravy Train" ... I am worried about this "Nora" and her authenticity. Does anyone reading this know of a "Nora" who uses the expression "Bring it on"?
Next she'll be using "Fecking" this "Nora". Not even close to being authentic. they should shut down the RObbie office immediately! They are doing?? Oh dear.
Reminds me of a young Dave Hennigan
ringing his school to get a "sickie".
DH "I'm afraid little David is not too well and can't come into to school today."
Teacher "Who's speaking?"
DH "Me father."
I saw that letter too. It has to be Dave! Here it is in full.
"I would like to thank the man who very kindly put the Rochdale newspaper through my letterbox yesterday published on behalf of the Labour parliamentary candidate Simon Danczuk.
Thank you for showing myself and the people of Rochdale that he is running scared before the fight begins.
I have known Paul Rowen MP for more than 20 years and, like thousands of other people, have seen how he cares so very much about so many issues. How he cares about people and their problems. He is dedicated, sincere and loyal and he stands out because he goes that extra mile and always gets the job done.
If Paul had a house in London and one halfway home and on in Rochdale, if Rochdale would benefit then bring it on.
When people are talking expenses he is the best man in Rochdale we have got. You can't buy caring people, dedicated and loyal, you cannot put a price on his worth.
Rochdale needs him and are very grateful to have him. Not all people in power have his qualities and many in power don't really care unfortunately.
He is the top man as MP for Rochdale. The people of Rochdale voted for him and they will vote for him again and again. He will most certainly be staying on as our MP.
Over a period of many years Paul has gained the trust and respect of people of thousands of people in Rochdale. You can never wipe that out whatever you say about him. He is a man of his word and personally I would trust him with my life. He will be judged by his actions. Praise the Lord for Paul, for no one in Rochdale can hold a candle to him."

I laughed so much I donated £20 to Comic Relief after reading this. Well worth it. Get this woman on stage at the Comedy Club.
Bloody hell, leave poor Nora alone. And those that live with her in Wardle- FRANCIS BIGGERS and GEORGE GRAY.
Nora is a stalwart. Very loyal. But give her a call and she is sure to spill the beans about that nice young man, David, who gets very excited about things.
What he needs is a nice young lady...
