Tom Harris vs John Redwood: Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test

Tom Harris MP is right I think to suggest that Tories ain't the party of regulation, whatever John Redwood may bleat today, and indeed like a broken record since Maggie Thatcher's untrammeled greed and freedom (tm David Cameron at Davos) came home to roost.

The real Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test proof for all this of course is in the tasting. In the experience, man. Check your inhibitions at the doors of perception. At the cloakroom of the mind.

How did the Merry Pranksters of the Tory Alternative World actually get on on their parallel universe tripping? What happened in all the real countries with real Tory-type governments and real regulation (or not). Far better to look at those than to speculate about what might have happened here.

George W Bush's USA anyone? Tory Iceland? Tory Japan? Tory anywhere? Did any Tory style government anywhere do substantially better or at all better than any third way (essentially mediated Toryism in econo-political terms) government? Never mind the World Saving Gordon Brown. And while we're looking at real life instead of speculating ... how about socialist or in this era of compromise more socialist economies?

FASCINATING TRIP: Down memory lane, for those who weren't there.
