Looks like Simon Djanchuk, didn't like my analysis here.

Is that for real? is it recent?

It's not real but it may be recent. It certainly has the look about it does it not? But it "looks like" the sort of message I might get down a web cam given my earlier blog. I reckon. A fortuitous find at the wonder warehouse that is images.google.co.uk where I was looking for something else entirely.

PS

I don't know Simon personally. But I do know Afzal and I believe that Afzal would be a stronger candidate in that constituency and one which Paul Rowen and the rumbustious Dave Hennigan would simply not be able to beat.

If it is a younger Simon, and who knows this link is vague enough on where it comes fom, then he certainly looks the part of a "staff fiddler" but I reckon it is just some student, probably a NOLS idiot like Simon was in his heyday, having a laugh. But Chris P, this must rank as the most lucky find in the world if even the stirrer Tom Watson is wondering if it is real. What were you searching for?

Chris Paul said...

Chalky was the search term. Looking for Rick Stein's Jack Russell.

'NOLS idiot' - just general term of abuse which can be applied to anyone. ex-NOLS idiot Luke Akehurst. ex-NOLS idiot Tom Watson. NOLS idiot Ciaran Ward etc etc etc. No offence boys.

Even people like that lovely Chris Bryant MP who wasn't really a careerist NOLS tosser as he was in fact a Tory at the time of his educational activities.

Don't know who it is in the picture - just somehow whose picture answers the call "Chalky" from the google image bank.

Thats no way to show your gratitude to the people that helped to rid the party of the trots.

Who said we were grateful? Bring back the Trots now! Forward to socialism!

Chris Paul said...

Sorry Adele ... who helped get rid of the Millies? Was that NOLS was it? I always thought it was the trot Clare Short and the not trot Neil Kinnock and a few others. I thought it was grown ups? The Millies are of course still about and I discovered last Friday that the residents rep on the Partnership Board I'm on in Salford (and have been for six years now) was one and stood for Council after the day as an Independent Communist. They also know the one who works for the charitable thing my partner chairs.

Chris you know my love of all things kinnock but the removal of LYPS was a major step.

''The Labour Party Young Socialists continued until 1993 when the Party Conference in Brighton supported a motion to set up Young Labour, proposed by Tom Watson (now Labour MP), seconded by Brian Whitington, then Chair of the Labour Party Young Socialists (2005 Candidate in Twickenham) and supported by then NEC Youth Representative Clare Ward (MP since 1997).''

Mmmm. Very scholarly. You haven't done a thesis on this or ought like that Addle?

LPYS, YL - what's in a name? How did the terms of reference of these two groups differ? Has some renewal and rebranding been spun into a decisive moment in the elect-ification of Labour by those concerned, who simply fancied a better brand name?

Manchester University Labour Club said...

LPYS was a socialist society and was over-run by total trots. Young Labour is not.

My thesis does happen to be on militant, tho I haven't quite got the aspect yet. In other news Adele is reading, 'Liverpool, a city that dared to fight' by Peter Taaffe.

The Labour Candidate is Simon Dancyuk, he won by about 30 votes and Afzal came 4th according to my info. The local paper have just rang with same info.

Thanks Dave ... will watch what happens next with great interest
