Tory Cash for Honours: Yates of Yard Reopens Case? CPS Close Down Allegations Against Tories

In a comment here Anonymous pointed at Google News ...

Charging decision in Conservative Party Honours allegation
The Crown Prosecution Service, UK - 2 hours ago
Following the decision by the Metropolitan Police to commence an investigation into allegations of so-called 'Cash for Honours' a further complaint was made ...

And went on ...

The CPS appear to have withdrawn this item per Google News from their website - I wonder who is objecting to its contents??

UPDATE: Thanks to David Ottewell of the MEN for confirming the item is all present and correct at the CPS site. I guess my anonymous source is reporting it being pulled from Google News?

Even when you've got time to write you can't say things as well as Memory Man.
And if you spoke, nobody would be listening.
How does that make you feel?

Eh? It's on the website.

Thanks David. It's Google News that were supposedly got at to reduce the publicity. The CPS is the CPS is the CPS.

And anonymouse - do give over.

If anonymous could explain that'd be grand. Did the CPS ever take it down? Or was the first deck of italics a Google News item that was taken down.

The Google Story is still there as well or has returned. Morale: check anonymous leads like a good NCTJ cub.

It's a bit of a dog bites man story in any case.

Google picked up the story from the CPS website 2 to 3 hours before the current version was put up - which indicates that an earlier version was put up and removed, before the final version was put on the website. Could just be a genuine cock-up by the CPS or it could be that the original was taken down for some other purpose.
